About SoberMath

Our Mission

SoberMath provides free, accessible tools to help people understand alcohol's effects on the body. Our goal is to promote responsible drinking through education and awareness — not to enable impaired driving or encourage alcohol misuse.

How Our Calculators Work

Our BAC calculators use the Widmark equation, the standard scientific formula for estimating blood alcohol content. The equation accounts for body weight, gender (body water ratio), amount of alcohol consumed, and time elapsed. While the Widmark formula is scientifically validated, individual results vary significantly based on metabolism, food intake, liver health, medications, and other factors.

Privacy

All calculations run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, health data, or calculation results. There is no account to create, no data to worry about.

Important Disclaimer

These calculators are for educational and informational purposes only.

  • Never rely on a BAC calculator to determine if you are safe to drive.
  • Individual BAC varies widely based on factors these calculators cannot measure.
  • Even small amounts of alcohol can impair driving ability.
  • The only way to accurately measure BAC is with a certified breathalyzer or blood test.
  • If you have been drinking, do not drive. Call a rideshare, taxi, or designated driver.
  • If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol, contact the SAMHSA helpline: 1-800-662-4357.
